Sony has released a new firmware update for the PlayStation 5.

The new firmware, called the version 22.02-06.50.00 update, adds support for the upcoming DualSense Edge wireless controller. The update also improves system performance, though this bit isn’t specific or clear on what’s being worked on.

Speaking of Edge, the new DualSense Edge will be out on 26 January for RM999 in Malaysia. Here’s a quick press blurb on the controller which left out the part where the DualSense Edge has less battery life than the original controller:

“[T]he DualSense Edge wireless controller features a host of hardware and software-based personalization options, including button remapping, the ability to fine-tune stick sensitivity and triggers, options to swap between multiple control profiles, and a unique on-controller user interface.
