That ’90s Show Hits Big Ratings On Netflix

That ’90s Show picks up approximately 15 years after That 70’s Show’s series finale, and it seems worth the wait with its high receiving engagement numbers for its pilot episode.

According to Forbes, 1.7 million households watched the first episode of the new series during the three-day viewing window since its premiere on 19 January 2023. The 1 Million figure is similar to the recent Netflix hit Harry & Meghan series’ first-day release. That ’90s show is especially popular among millennial viewers, with an 8% index for adults between 25-34 and a 4% index for adults between 35 to 45 years old.

However, based on Rotten Tomatoes, the series stands at a 75% score on the Tomatometer and the audience score currently stands at 74%, as many claim the series to be half-baked compared to That 70’s Show.

The older generation meets the new generation as the many members of the That ’70s Show cast are set to reprise their roles in That ’90s Show: Debra Jo Rupp (Kitty Forman) and Kurtwood Smith (Red Forman) fulfilling the role of grandparents, Topher Grace (Eric), Laura Pepron (Donna), Mila Kunis (Jackie), Wilmer Valderrama (Fez) and Ashton Kutcher (Kelso) — made special guests appearances. Danny Masterson known as Hyde is the only principal That 70’s Show cast that made no appearance due to legal allegations against him.

As for the new generations of the teenage cast are Callie Haverda (Leia Forman), Mace Coronel (Jay Kelso), Reyn Doi (Ozzie), Maxwell Acee Donovan (Nate), Ashley Aufderheide (Gwen), and Sam Morelos (Nikki) making her first TV debut. In addition, the new cast even gave fans a tour of the Point Place studio set:

The sequel of the series follows Red and Kitty Forman’s lives as grandparents and their granddaughter, Leia Forman visit Point Place, Wisconsin for the summer where she bonds with the new kids of the area under the watchful eyes of Kitty and the stern glare of Red Forman.

That ’90s Show is currently available to stream on Netflix and consists of 10 episodes in Season 1.

Watch the official trailer below to get a glimpse of Red and Kitty’s Forman lives to be full of excitement or dread, for Red, especially.
