Quirky Sailing Ship Game Sail Forth Is Out To Sea Right Now
By Jonathan Toyad|December 30, 2022|0 Comment
Just before 2022 ends, we have a curious little indie title that came out a few days ago: Sail Forth.
Sail Forth lets you pilot a customizable bunch of ships across a vibrantly-coloured archipelago in search of secrets and sea fights, the latter involving sea monsters and pirates. It’s a mix between Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, but done with a smaller team. This makes Sail Forth all the more impressive.
All the more impressive is that the game has a realistic simulation of sailing despite its cartoonish look. It’s still an accessible game for casuals, but it has a ton of detail like separately simulated wind and sails.
“Put the wind to your back and cast out into a vast ocean-spanning dozens of eccentric regions. Discover countless isles bursting with their own flora, fauna, friendly folk, and fearsome foes. Playfully pursue a pod of curious dolphins, admire the beauty of the sun sinking into an icy horizon, or run down a clutch of cowardly criminals only to accept their apologies to the tune of wild cannonry. Will you answer the call of High Adventure?”
Check out the trailer below to see if it’s your kind of jam. Sail Forth is out now for PC (Steam, Epic Games), Xbox Series, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
