Darkest Dungeon 2 Leaves Early Access This May

Red Hook Studios has announced that Darkest Dungeon 2 will leave Early Access and launch for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on 8 May 2023. It originally launched in Early Access on 26 October 2021.

Darkest Dungeon II is a turn-based roguelike road trip of the damned. Players will form a party, equip their stagecoach, and set off across the decaying landscape on a last-gasp quest to avert the apocalypse. Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours.

A Darkest Dungeon 2 demo is available now via Steam as part of Steam Next Fest February 2023 Edition. In the demo, players can take the four starting heroes through one full region, and explore either Sprawl (city) or the Foetor (farms). However, no progression will be saved between expeditions in the demo.

The full game will feature 12 playable heroes, five full regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub with “extensive” persistent upgrades.

In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview of the game here.
