If you’re a diehard Final Fantasy fan waiting for a Tactics revival, you’re in luck.

It turns out Square Enix is working on a remastered Final Fantasy Tactics, according to Square Enix who let slip that info during an interview about its upcoming game Theatrhythm Final Bar Line (via Finaland). The game’s producer Ichiro Hazama said that the FF Tactics team at Square Enix is busy at the moment.

“The Tactics team is incredibly busy at the moment, they have other things to do. They are heavily involved in another project at the moment so we just don’t have time to talk to them. I think that’s probably why more Tactics characters haven’t been included in [Theatrhythm], we just need time to find out the details. I think that’s what is going on, at the very least with Tactics characters. I’m sure they will put them into the game, Fujiwara-san wants Tactics, I know that.”

This is relevant to the past NVidia games list leak back in 2021 where a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster was listed (alongside a Final Fantasy IX remake). Then again, it could be any other FF Tactics game like the Game Boy Advance and DS ones. While it’s not an official announcement, we can expect some turn-based strategy action from Square Enix in the near future, at least in announcement form.
