Iconic Malaysian Voice Actress Behind Nobita, Azizah Jais Needs Our Help
By Lewis Larcombe|March 10, 2023|0 Comment
Remember Azizah Jais, the voice behind the Malay dub of the iconic character Nobita from the popular anime series, Doremon? She’s been facing some major struggles lately. Her health issues have made it impossible for her to go out to work, which has put her in a really tough spot financially.
Azizah explained that she hasn’t been able to work as a voice actor for almost a year, and now relies on the kindness of her industry friends. Unfortunately, things have gotten even worse in the past month, as a leg injury from a fall has made it difficult for her to get around.
Before, Azizah used to work on voice dubbing, but now she only takes jobs when they’re available nearby. She’s still receiving medical treatment, but it’s expensive, and she can only afford the most necessary medication. Her mobility has been limited by the injury, so she’s been stuck at home.
Azizah’s contributions to the industry have been immense; she’s lent her voice to many other iconic characters over the years. But now, she needs our help. Donations are being collected by the Malaysian Voiceover Welfare Organization to support her during this difficult time.
So far, they’ve raised RM350 through the generosity of her fans and friends. If you’d like to contribute, you can donate to her Bank Islam account (12047020378212) under her name, Azizah Mat Jais, or to the Maybank account (114262427281) under the name of Mohd Azuan Shamsir Samsuri, the Chairman of Dubbers Inc. Malaysia. Let’s come together and help Azizah get back on her feet!
