Knights Of The Zodiac Movie Trailer Teases Lots Of Action & Sean Bean
Sony Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Knights Of The Zodiac movie, which is a Hollywood live-action adaptation of the legendary Saint Seiya manga. The director is Polish animator and special effects creator Tomasz Baginski, with Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken (10 Cloverfield Lane) as the screenwriters.
The film stars:
- Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: Uprising, Rurouni Kenshin Saish?sh? The Final, live-action Chihayafuru films) as Seiya
- Madison Iseman (Jumanji sequels, I Know What You Did Last Summer television series) as Sienna
- Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Snowpiercer series) as Alman Kido
- Famke Janssen (X-Men, Taken, The Vault) as Guraad
- Nick Stahl (Fear the Walking Dead) as Cassios, Diego Tinoco (On My Block) as Nero
- Mark Dacascos (John Wick: Parabellum, Hawaii Five-O, Crying Freeman, Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight, Iron Chef America) as Mylock.
The synopsis reads:
Based on the international anime sensation, Knights of the Zodiac brings the Saint Seiya saga to the big screen in live-action for the first time. Seiya (Mackenyu), a headstrong street teen, spends his time fighting for cash while he searches for his abducted sister. When one of his fights unwittingly taps into mystical powers he never knew he had, Seiya finds himself thrust into a world of warring saints, ancient magical training and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. If he’s to survive, he will need to embrace his destiny and sacrifice everything to take his rightful place among the Knights of the Zodiac.
Masami Kurumada created the original Saint Seiya manga, which ran from 1986 to 1990. The manga has been adapted into multiple anime series, original video anime projects, anime films, and spinoff manga. The original series has sold 35 million copies worldwide to date.
The movie honestly reminds us of Dragon Ball Evolution, but with the inclusion of talents like Sean Bean and Famke Janssen, perhaps that means the movie will at least be decent? Fingers crossed.
Knights Of The Zodiac will premiere in Malaysian cinemas sometime in June 2023, according to TGV Cinemas.
