The Witcher Season 3 Teaser Trailer Drop Along Side Premiere Dates
By Lewis Larcombe|April 26, 2023|0 Comment
Get ready because The Witcher Season 3 is coming to Netflix and it’s going to be split into two parts! The first five episodes will premiere on 29 June and the remaining three episodes will drop on 27 July.
We’ve also been treated to a minute-long teaser trailer that gives us a glimpse of what to expect. Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as Geralt, but unfortunately, this will be his last season before he passes on the torch to Liam Hemsworth in Season 4. We’ll also see Anya Chalotra return as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri as they take on the world as a trio.
The teaser trailer flashes between various scenes from the new season, but it doesn’t give us a long look at anything in particular. We do get to see more of the Wild Hunt, Rience, and a few other villains. However, the trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the new season’s central conflict, which is the crumbling institution of mages in a blood battle.
According to the official plot synopsis, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding as monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her. Meanwhile, Yennefer is entrusted with Ciri’s magical training and leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza. However, they quickly discover that they’ve stumbled into a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.
It’s worth noting that Netflix’s Witcher world is separate from the famous books and video game franchise. The world has expanded significantly since its inception, with seven seasons of the mainline series planned, a spin-off animated film called Nightmare of the Wolf, and a prequel series called Blood Origin.
