By Xandria Morden|May 17, 2023|1 Comment
Blizzard has finally revealed a roadmap for Overwatch 2’s upcoming seasons in 2023. The roadmap is not very descriptive, but gives out just enough information to the fans on what they can expect this year. All this was explained on a special developer stream today. The next three seasons of content will include the arrival of PvE story missions that have been promised since 2019.
The centerpiece of this season is the time-limited event, Questwatch, which promises an immersive experience within the world of fantasy. While details about the event remain undisclosed, its banner image showcases a fantastical map adorned with a majestic castle, towering mountains, and a menacing evil lair, among other intriguing elements. Additionally, Season 5 will introduce an endearing canine companion through a captivating new cinematic, bring back the beloved Overwatch Summer Games, offer a mini Competitive season featuring 5v5 matches, and present a Creator Workshop for creative minds.
Season 6 brings about even more exciting content, including a new and improved firing range for fans. It will also feature exciting content commemorating the one-year anniversary of Overwatch 2. Most players are hyped to see what the new hero mastery and player progression system is and how it will work. Hopefully we get more details on it soon.
Season 7 and beyond will be marked by the arrival of an exciting new Omnic Tank hero as its standout feature. Looking ahead, the game has ambitious plans, such as a comprehensive rework for Roadhog, the introduction of a Lore Codex to enrich the game’s lore, and a reimagining of Sombra’s abilities. Furthermore, fan-favorite modes, including Competitive Mystery Heroes, will make a return, offering thrilling gameplay experiences. A brand-new Control map will join the roster, alongside a highly anticipated collaboration event that is bound to excite the community. Notably, a winter seasonal event will bring festive cheer to the game. Alongside these updates, players can look forward to more captivating cinematic debuts and the introduction of multiplayer-focused Hero Master Missions, providing unique challenges for players to conquer together.
Overwatch 2 is currently in its fourth season which kicked off April 11th and will end mid-June. The season introduced the newest support hero to the roster, Lifeweaver.
