Mega Man-Like Roguelite 30XX Will Finally Be Out This August

2D action platformer fans, rejoice! The Mega Man roguelite action title 30XX is getting out of Early Access in a few months.

30XX will be out for PC and Nintendo Switch this 9th August. The sidescrolling platformer features the aforementioned roguelite mode complete with random levels and permadeath, along with local/online co-op play. If you really want a new fresh spin on Capcom’s Mega Man/Mega Man X games, this indie-made title from Batterystaple Games is one to watch out for.

We’ve played the Early Access build since 2021, and it’s a helluva tribute to Mega Man X that’s so much more, capped off with a new roguelite twist on things. It’s good to know that it has come a long way since then, now with new characters, stages, and “Robot Masters” to challenge fans and newcomers.

“All these changes and roguelike element do make this just more than a standard ode to the Blue Bomber’s past titles. And the tributes & touches in 30XX are numerous, from the way some enemies acting similar to Mega Man staples like the mecha bats, to even how both Nina and Ace freeze frame into their last action when entering the patented Mega Man boss door. “

Feature list and launch trailer below:

Features

  • Pulse-pounding action, precise platforming, and beautiful spritework.
  • Characters with fully distinct playstyles – master Ace’s swift, combo-friendly Techniques and Nina’s intricate Power Fusion system for even more replayability.
  • A fresh new set of levels, items, and powers every time you play – 30XX is never the same game twice!
  • Roguelike-style progression that lets you tune the game’s systems and difficulty as you play, even after you win.
  • A robust level editor – the same tools the developers use! – that lets you build single level chunks or entire custom campaigns.
  • Local and online multiplayer, so you can enjoy 30XX with a friend.
