Last May, the publisher declared the end of its almost three-decade-long partnership with FIFA, intending to introduce a new soccer brand, EA SPORTS FC.
The series premiered in September with EA SPORTS FC 24, which, in its first week, drew in “more than 11.3 million players globally, including through EA Play,” as stated by the company last month.
In the second-quarter financial report, released on Wednesday, EA mentioned that within the first four weeks of its worldwide launch, the game “had over 14.5 million active accounts.”
CEO Andrew Wilson of EA, discussing its performance, expressed that the company had “successfully introduced EA SPORTS FC, transforming one of the world’s largest franchises into a potent, interactive platform for the future of football enthusiasts.”
He further stated during the company’s earnings call that the successful launch of EA SPORTS FC stands as a significant accomplishment.
Furthermore, players who have logged in to EA SPORTS FC 24 by the end of today will be eligible to obtain a free Erling Haaland item in Ultimate Team come December.
