[Rumour] Persona 2 Remaster And Persona 4 Remake In The Works At Atlus

If you’re impressed by this month’s Persona 3 Reload, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

According to Twitter account Midori (@MbKKssTBhz5, via @Okami13_), a prominent Atlus insider, he stated that Persona 2 and Persona 4 remakes “exist at Atlus”. Another trusted insider, Im A Hero Too, claims that it’s a remaster, not a remake.

The Persona 2 remaster is dubbed Persona 2: Redemption, and will include both games -Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment- as well as new translations/script alongside quality-of-life changes. The Persona 2 remaster will be out for all platforms including the Nintendo Switch 2 and the next-generation Xbox. This remaster is a smaller undertaking and will be released before Persona 6 is out or the year after.

Meanwhile, the Persona 4 remake is “years away” and hasn’t entered production yet. If you ask me, Atlus has it backwards: Persona 2 does deserve an overhaul and a remake; combine both games together into one major entry, or just make two separate entries and Atlus gets more money. Either way, the rich cast of Persona 2 and its rumour system should make for great remaking. Still, a remaster is better than nothing.

Persona 3 Reload is out right now for PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5. Check out our glowing review of the game here.
