Sony Pictures Malaysia To Release Chinese Comedy Film YOLO

Sony Pictures Malaysia has acquired international distribution rights to YOLO, a mainland Chinese comedy film that was released in China last Saturday on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday. It managed to draw 1.6 billion yuan at the box office in its first four days of screening.
The film is written, directed by and stars Jia Ling, China’s top-grossing female filmmaker. She portrays Le Ying, an unemployed woman in her thirties who still lives with her parents until one day, she meets a boxing coach (portrayed by Lei Jia Ling), who just may change her life.
YOLO currently secures its position at the top of China’s daily box office chart, as reported by the China Movie Data Information Network. The film exhibited remarkable success by generating a daily revenue of 349.96 million yuan (approximately US$49.26 million).
Sony Pictures Malaysia will distribute the film YOLO in Malaysia in March 2024. The confirmed date will be announced soon.
