Tekken 8 Post Release Roadmap Plans & Dates Revealed

Bandai Namco has revealed the post-release plans of its newly-released 3D fighting game Tekken 8.

We know that Eddy Gordo, the capoeira fighter, will be out in Spring, with the other Season 1 fighters coming out in Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The release date of Eddy will be announced as soon as it is confirmed, with the second update slated between February and March.

The game’s third update will be out in April, with more subsequent ones coming after May. Here’s what’s in store:

Feb-March Update 2

  • In-game collaboration
  • New feature in Tekken Shop
  • Character adjustments, bug fixes, etc.

April Update 2

  • Tekken World Tour 2024 debut
  • Character adjustments, bug fixes, etc.
  • Other new features

The Tekken Shop will be updated once or twice a month, with more classic costumes and avatar costumes added. The game will get a new Photo Mode option soon.

DLC characters will have their own Character Story mode, and as a bonus, people who do not own the characters can play their Character Story episodes free of charge.

On a related note, new Tekken-branded shirts will be available in Uniqlo’s new Fighting Game Legends line of t-shirts in February. Check your local Uniqlo outlets for the actual release month of these t-shirts.
