Malaysia Hosted & Crowned The PUBG Mobile Super League SEA Spring 2024 Champions

The Spring 2024 PUBG Mobile Super League Southeast Asia finals wrapped up on 17 March and it was a spectacle to behold. For three weeks, teams fought tooth and nail as they battled to qualify for this event. And with the final 16 teams confirmed, the stage was set.

Tropicana Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, became the epicentre of this electrifying competition. Nestled in the bustling centre court of the mall, the event drew in crowds of spectators, both seasoned esports enthusiasts and curious onlookers alike, to witness the thrilling battles unfold on the virtual battlegrounds. From 15 to 17 March, the mall reverberated with the sounds of clashing gunfire and strategic manoeuvring as 16 teams from across Southeast Asia battled it out for supremacy in the wildly popular game PUBG Mobile. Set against two awe-inspiringly big screens that showcased the matches in play, the tournament offered a unique spectacle, allowing passerbyers to glimpse into the world of competitive gaming.

The competition was fierce right from the start, with each team vying for a chance to etch their names in esports history. Among the contenders were powerhouse teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, each armed with their own unique strategies and playstyles. As the matches unfolded, the tension in the air was palpable, with every kill, every decision, shaping the trajectory of the tournament. Spectators gathered around giant screens erected in the centre court, their eyes glued to the action unfolding before them. Cheers erupted and gasps of disbelief echoed through the mall from both Malaysian and Indonesian ultras in attendance as the teams clashed in intense firefights, showcasing their skills and resilience.

BOOM Esports clinched the championship trophy in the PUBG Mobile Super League Southeast Asia (PMSL SEA) Spring 2024. They emerged victorious in the Grand Final on 17 March, accumulating the highest total points of 179, surpassing 15 other teams from various parts of Southeast Asia.

Alongside the trophy, BOOM Esports secured a cash prize of US$40,400 and a golden ticket to the international scale PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2024 in April 2024. Their consistent performance throughout the tournament saw them maintain a top position from the outset, despite facing challenges from other aggressive teams. This victory marked Indonesia’s third consecutive win in the PMSL SEA, following previous victories by Alter Ego Ares. Alter Ego Ares, despite their strong performance, settled for second place, trailing BOOM Esports by 9 points.

Talon Esports, another Indonesian team, claimed the third spot in the final standings with 147 points, solidifying Indonesian dominance in the competition. Among the 16 participating teams, Indonesia secured 8 slots, while the rest hailed from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
