Sky: Children of the Light Enters Steam Early Access In April

Sky: Children of the Light, the open-world adventure game from Santa Monica-based Thatgamecompany, has revealed that the game will enter Early Access for Steam on 10 April 2024. The developer aims to implement all necessary refinements to ensure the PC experience shines.

To commemorate the milestone, players on all platforms will receive a special treat. One such offering is the Journey Pack, which will be made available to all players, regardless of their platform of choice. Previously exclusive to PlayStation, this pack features a cape and hood modelled after the iconic red outfit worn by the Journey traveller. It also comes with a mask that, when equipped, grants your avatar a unique Journey-inspired voice.

The Journey Pack will be available for purchase on the same day as the Early Access release, priced at $24.99. Additionally, it will remain available even after the PC version launch event concludes.

Moreover, players on Steam PC and the Steam Deck have the exclusive opportunity to acquire a unique item in the Aviary event shop to commemorate their gaming adventures. This special item, none other than the iconic Companion Cube, can be unlocked for 50 Candles and will be available permanently in the event shop.

Starting on 10 April at midnight, 12:00 AM (all times PDT, UTC -7), players will have the opportunity to earn additional Hearts and Treasure Candles. During this period, every Heart gift or partial Heart gift sent to friends (and also friends who are moths) will automatically be doubled. This specially designed event offers a rewarding incentive for players to engage in friendly interactions and support one another within the game.

During Early Access, Steam players will have the opportunity to play the full version of Sky: Children of the Light. This special period allows us the opportunity to integrate the full suite of Steam PC features and ensure that they are showcased at their best. Some of the key features that the team will focus on include Steam friends, Steam achievements, and support for Remote Play. Additionally, they will be prioritizing enhancing the game’s graphics by implementing HDR and VRR support. Players are encouraged to provide feedback to make the gameplay on PC an exceptional experience.

If you’re currently a PC Demo or Beta player, note that there will be a temporary blackout period starting 1 April until 10 April so Thatgamecompany can get everything ready for the Early Access release.

For those who possess a Sky account and intend to play the game on either PC or the Steam Deck, it is crucial to link your account to your Steam account. To proceed with this process, log in to Sky on your mobile device and then navigate to the settings menu. Here, you will find the option to add your existing Steam account to your existing Sky account.
