Dragon’s Dogma 2 Hits 2.5 Million Sales In Under A Month

Capcom recently announced the success of their latest action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2, which has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide since its launch on March 22, 2024. This information was released through a press release on 2 April via Capcom’s Investor Relations page.

The company has also disclosed that the cumulative sales for the series as a whole have surpassed 10 million units. In the press release, Capcom emphasized their commitment to delivering high-quality gameplay experiences and promised to “remain firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all stakeholders” through their industry-leading game development capabilities.

Despite the controversy surrounding microtransactions and criticisms regarding the game’s performance, particularly on PC, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has nevertheless achieved remarkable success. It has recorded the highest launch for a single-player Capcom game on Steam, reaching an impressive peak of 228,585 concurrent players.

Last week, Capcom conducted a survey of Dragon’s Dogma 2 players to gather their feedback and opinions on various aspects of the game, including their potential interest in DLC. Given the impressive sales figures of the sequel, it seems inevitable that additional content will be released.

Twelve years after the release of the initial Dragon’s Dogma, the series is set in a fantasy realm where the players embark on quests and adventures in a vast open world that showcases swords and magic. Beyond these core elements, the titles offer additional gameplay features, one of which is a ‘pawn’ adventure companion. This companion can independently execute actions and assist the player throughout their exploration.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Check out our review here.
