Romancing SaGa 2 Remake Announced; Out Later This Year

A Romancing SaGa remake was not on my bingo card for this week of game announcements, but here we are.

Square Enix has announced a remake of Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, a fantasy RPG where you play a ruler who has to amass an army of heroes to combat seven heroes who have turned to the dark side. Features from the old SNES classic title that’s on the remake include the Glimmer system, where you get new skills in the heat of battle, and loads of story paths to take and heroes to recruit, along with story choices that let you be a good guy or a bad ruler.

The whole game is presented in 3D fashion, with your hero running around in third person and combat looking similar to recent SaGa titles, turn-based and all. Check out the title card and reveal trailer below.
