A Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 Gameplay Showcase Is Happening Later This Month

Following the previous 2025 release window update for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 in June 2024 and the promise of gameplay in August 2024, 2K and Firaxis Games are excited to provide an update on all of this month’s activities.

The game will also be part of Gamescom Opening Night Live with Geoff Keighley. After Opening Night Live, the FiraxisGames Twitch account will premiere their official Civilization 7 Gameplay Showcase. For more than 20 minutes, they will be sharing exclusive insights from the development team about this revolutionary new chapter in the franchise, including their vision for the game as well as its innovative new features.

Finally, they will then be heading over to PAX West in Seattle where Kinda Funny Games’ Greg Miller will host a developer panel, where they will share new insights and behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the creation of Civilization 7. For those attending in person, they will be located in the Main Theater on the 5th floor of the Summit Building.

• August 20 @ 11:00 AM PT (2am GMT+8 on 21 August 2024): The world premiere of gameplay for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will debut at Gamescom Opening Night Live, watchable on Twitch.tv/gamescom.
• August 20 @ 1:30 PM PT (4.30am on 21 August 2024): The official Civilization VII Gameplay Showcase goes live on Twitch.tv/Firaxisgames, featuring more than 20 minutes of exclusive insights and deep dives across new features and innovations.
• August 21-25: In-person attendees can check out the official Civilization VII booth at Gamescom, located in Hall 6.
• August 31: Attendees can check out the official Civilization VII Pax Panel at 11:00 AM PT in Seattle, WA, located in the Main Theater on the 5th floor of the Summit Building. Viewers at home can also watch on Twitch.tv/PAX.

Firaxis is also best known for XCOM Enemy Unknown and XCOM Enemy Within, as well as XCOM 2 and the recent Marvel’s Midnight Suns (check out our review here).
