Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble Reveals 2.0 Update Alongside Iconic DLC Characters
Excitement is in the air as two iconic characters, everyone’s beloved vocaloid Hatsune Miku and the legendary Godzilla, are set to make their DLC debut in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble this November. Publisher SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are launching these new characters alongside a substantial version 2.0 update, both available on 26 November.

Players will have the unique chance to roll their way through vibrant levels as either Hatsune Miku, collecting musical notes, or as the colossal Godzilla, unleashing atomic breath amidst the chaos of banana pickups. The downloadable characters will be purchasable via the Nintendo eShop, offering a fun new experience for fans of both franchises.
The highly anticipated update will bring a wealth of new features and improvements, enhancing both Adventure and Multiplayer modes. One of the standout additions is a first-person mode titled ‘Monkey See’, which positions the camera inside your ball, allowing you to experience the game from your character’s perspective, creating a fully immersive experience.
Players can also look forward to a new ‘Quick Try’ feature in Adventure mode, enabling instant level restarts without the need to pause. The challenging ‘No Miss Challenge’ mode invites players to complete as many stages as possible without any errors, while the exhilarating ‘Super Speed’ mode boosts player movement for a more fast-paced gameplay experience. For seasoned players, brand new ‘Ultimate EX’ stages’ will truly test their skills.
In multiplayer, the fun continues with the introduction of ‘Super Punchy Brawl’, a mode where players knock each other off the stage using oversized boxing gloves. Players can earn upgrades to enhance their gloves, increasing both size and damage, leading to intense competition as they vie for the highest score.

For fans of Virtual YouTubers, a special “NIJISANJI UKIUKI CUP Outfit Set” will be available as a free download on 26 November. This pack includes a logo t-shirt featuring the NIJISANJI UKIUKI Cup, a custom monkey ball with the NIJISANJI design, and a costume inspired by Saegusa Akina from NIJISANJI.
The update will also introduce several quality-of-life enhancements, including a character selection randomization feature, a bulk purchase option in the in-game Shop, a save data carryover from the demo, customizable color options for player names, and more.
