Next Battlefield Release Window Confirmed

If you’ve been itching for the next Battlefield game, brace yourself—you’ll be waiting until at least April 2025. Electronic Arts (EA) has officially confirmed that its next instalment in the franchise is set to launch sometime before April 2026, which, in business-speak, means it could drop anytime between 1 April 2025, and 31 March 2026.

Not exactly the specific window we were looking for, but it’s a window no less. EA recently threw fans a bone with a whole ten seconds of pre-alpha gameplay footage, tucked away at the end of a video about the studios working on the game. Blink, and you might miss it, but hey, it’s something.

Speaking of studios, EA is pulling out all the stops with what it’s now calling ‘Battlefield Studios’—a collection of four teams working together to build a connected, modern-day Battlefield universe. DICE is handling multiplayer, Motive is working on maps and single-player missions, Criterion is all about the solo experience, and Ripple Effect is cooking up something new for the series. What that ‘something new’ is, we don’t quite know yet, but fingers crossed it’s not another half-baked experiment.

And because no modern shooter is complete without community input, EA has launched Battlefield Labs—a new closed testing environment where players can sign up to help fine-tune the game’s combat, destruction, weapons, vehicles, and squad-based gameplay. The first wave of invites will go out to a select few in Europe and North America, with more regions and players getting access over time. So, if you fancy yourself a beta tester, now’s your chance, register here.

For now, all we can do is wait—and hope that this next Battlefield doesn’t launch with the same level of ‘polish’ that Battlefield 2042 had at release. Fingers crossed EA.
