Samsung Odyssey’s Fancy New Monitors Are Basically Wizardry

If you’re the sort of person who thinks “I wish my eyeballs could be punched in 4K at 240 frames per second”, then Samsung’s new Odyssey monitors are about to become your next impulse buy.

From 8 April, Samsung’s latest line-up of Odyssey gaming displays is officially up for pre-order in Malaysia. And they’re not just tossing in a few extra pixels this time. Oh no—these screens are now flexing cutting-edge tech that makes your old monitor look like it belongs in a retirement home. We’re talking glasses-free 3D, OLED at 240Hz, and ultra-wide panoramic overkill. The future of gaming apparently involves fewer wires, more screen, and absolutely no shame in spending RM8,999 on a display.

Odyssey 3D (G90XF) – Glasses? What Glasses?

Ever wanted to play games in 3D but couldn’t be bothered with those silly cinema glasses? Samsung heard you. Enter the Odyssey 3D, a 27-inch UHD wizard of a monitor that delivers stunning glasses-free 3D using fancy eye-tracking and something called a lenticular lens. It runs at a slick 165Hz with a 1ms response time, and thanks to something dubbed the Reality Hub, it practically slaps you into your games.

Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF) – All the Hz, None of the Ghosting

Now for the show-off in the family—the Odyssey OLED G8. This one’s a 27-inch 4K OLED display with a ludicrous 240Hz refresh rate and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 0.03ms response time. It’s the kind of thing that’ll make even a dull game of Minesweeper look like an action movie. Darker blacks, sharper colours, and the kind of visual clarity that might just make your graphics card cry.

Odyssey G9 (G91F) – When One Screen Just Isn’t Enough

And then there’s the absolute unit—the Odyssey G9. It’s a 49-inch curved behemoth that wraps around your face like an IMAX theatre got personal. With a Dual QHD resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time, every game turns into a cinematic experience… assuming your desk doesn’t collapse under the weight.

Early Birds Get the Bonus Loot

If you registered your interest between 24 March and 6 April, Samsung’s throwing you a RM300 e-voucher. Use it between 7 to 20 April during the pre-order phase, and Samsung will pretend they’re being generous.

Also on offer: savings up to RM1,000 depending on which screen you fancy. Here’s the damage:

Product Price (RM) Rebate (RM)
Odyssey 3D (LS27FG900XEXXS) 8,999 1,000
Odyssey OLED G8 27” (LS27FG812SEXXS) 5,999 500
Odyssey OLED G8 32” (LS32FG812SEXXS) 6,499 500
Odyssey G9 (LS49FG912EEXXS) 5,399 500

So if you’ve got cash to burn and a burning desire to see your K/D ratio in eye-melting clarity, these new Odyssey monitors are now up for pre-order. Just try not to get hypnotised by the specs list. Here’s the official link, for those brave (and rich) enough.
