Nintendo Switch 2 Worldwide Sales Top 10.36 Million Units
Despite the criticisms of the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s still a brand-new console that features new exclusive titles. As such, it’s sure to sell quite a bit among gaming enthusiasts and casual gamers who can afford it.
Nintendo has announced that it has sold 10.36 million units of the Nintendo Switch 2 as of 30 September 2025. The OG system Switch has sold 154.01 million units worldwide at the same timeframe.
A total of 4.54 million Switch 2 hardware and 11.95 million software were sold during the three months ended September 30, 2025, while a total of 0.91 million Switch hardware and 37.16 million software were sold.
Here are the top-selling first-party titles for both consoles:
Switch 2
- Mario Kart World: 9.57 million
- Donkey Kong Bananza: 3.49 million
Switch 1
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 69.56 million
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons: 48.62 million
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 36.93 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 33.34 million
- Super Mario Odyssey: 29.84 million
- Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet: 27.61 million
- Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield: 26.96 million
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: 22.15 million
- Super Mario Party: 21.23 million
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: 18.53 million
Even with the fact that people bought the Mario Kart World Switch 2 bundle, less than 10 million units sold for a game that’s US$80 mean Nintendo may have the last laugh in being the first to cater to their obvious greed.
