It’s the end of Spring in Japan, which means there’s a big fighting game tournament ongoing. That’s right: EVO Japan is back for its 2026 iteration, and with it a lot of fighting game tournaments and even big announcements.

Taking place in Tokyo, Japan, top players from around the world are battling for the championship in Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Guilty Gear Strive, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, 2XKO, and many more. Street Fighter 6 is the most popular fighting game of the lot, with over 7,000+ participants, followed by Tekken 8 with 880 players and Guilty Gear Strive at 740 players.
