Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Adds Splinter To The Roster

The next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles beat-em-up will add in another fan-requested character.

We’ve already seen reporter April O’Neil in action, and now we can add the turtle’s sensei Master Splinter duking it out in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Splinter hasn’t been playable in a TMNT game since, well, that middling TMNT Smash Bros. clone. He’s either kidnapped by Mousers or is a background character.

Here’s his official description:

“Master Splinter’s calm, thoughtful nature makes him more collected than most of his green pupils, but his mastery of ninja arts ensures that he’s a formidable powerhouse. He dishes out particularly powerful attacks with his trusty staff and wide-reaching special ninja moves, bashing through groups of enemies as efficiently as the Turtles chowing down on a pizza.”

He’s got a good footsie reach with his staff, a tatsumaki move, a flying kick anti-air that looks like Yang/Yun’s uppercut in Street Fighter 3, and a few other long-reaching moves.

Check them all out in action below. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will be out in 2022 for PC and consoles, featuring lush 2D pixel artwork, 6 playable characters, 4-player co-op, and a ton of Foot Soldiers and evil mutants to take down. You can wishlist for the game via Steam.
