Ghostbusters Director Ivan Reitman Dies At 75

Legendary film director Ivan Reitman has passed away at the age of 75. According to sources (via Variety), his family confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep at home on 12 February 2022 in Montecito, California, USA.

In a joint statement, the late director’s children, Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman and Caroline Reitman, said:

“Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life.

We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always.”

The late Ivan Reitman was best known for producing 1978’s Animal House, before going to direct comedy classics such as 1979’s Meatballs, 1984’s Ghostbusters, 1989’s Ghostbusters II and more.

RIP to the late legend.
