Activision Blizzard Sued For Wrongful Death By Suicide Victim’s Family

The hits just keep on coming for Activision Blizzard. And it’s not the good kind.

Following the massive workplace harassment investigation and controversy that spanned for a year or so, Activision Blizzard is facing hot water yet again. This time, it’s being sued by the family of an employee who died by suicide.

According to the Washington Post, the complaint was filed by the parents of Kerri Moynihan, a 32 year-old finance manager at Activision Blizzard. See, she was found dead during a company retreat in 2017; the sexual harassment she faced was a “significant factor” leading to her suicide. Turns out that during the 2017 holiday party, male co-workers passed around a picture of her vagina and referenced a male supervisor who allegedly brought sex toys with him on the business trip.

Kerri’s case was referenced in a California Department of Fair Employment and Housing lawsuit filed last July, proving that the company was fostering a culture of sexual harassment, misconduct, and gender-based discrimination among others. It turns out that Kerri’s boss, Greg Restituito, lied to investigators in the Anaheim Police Department looking into her death in the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa hotel room where the retreat was held. He was concealing the fact that he had a sexual relationship with Kerri. Following her death, he was making efforts in covering up and hide evidence of his relationship with her.

Read more about it here. Not sure how this will look for the parties involved, especially one of them who is buying Activision Blizzard as a whole.
