The latest speedrun for From Software’s hit RPG Elden Ring is 12 minutes and 32 seconds long. Yes, these speedruns are getting faster and faster with each passing week.

The record-breaker as of now is YouTube content creator Mitchriz and it uses the new “zip” and “meta zip” technique. This glitch lets players zoom around the game and make short runs possible. To pull off the trick, Mitchriz set his character up in a blocking animation. When the correct sound cue plays, he presses W to catapult his character across the map. This glitch lets him skip all of Limgrave and jump to Liurna of the Lake. He picks up the Icerind Axe for the weapon’s skill, then go through the waygate to the late game area.

The rest of the run requires carefully-planned zips and positioning to get to the final areas of the game. This speedrun is so far, it beats Dark Souls’ 21 minutes speedrun, Dark Souls’ 14 minutes speedrun, and Dark Souls 3’s 31 minutes speeddrun efforts.
