PlayStation Plus Three-Tiered Service Launches In Asia This May

Play will have no limits soon and in subscription form, now with an official release date.

The new PlayStation Plus with the three-tiered subscription service will launch on 23 May in Asia markets excluding Japan. In addition, the cloud streaming access will be available for a total of 30 markets. Here’s what Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan has to say:

“We’ve been working on this massive global effort to provide flexible options, quality games, and greater value for our members for quite some time now—and we’re just a few weeks away from our first regional rollout. We want to thank our PlayStation community for the ongoing support, and we’ll have more to share as we get closer to launch.”

For more on the service, here’s our PlayStation Plus breakdown. Basically if you want to have it all -PlayStation classic games and PS Plus titles- you’ll need to fork over RM50 for the PS Plus Premium version. But don’t worry: it’s easy to switch between the various tiers offered. Sony plans to allow players to transfer to different tiers, the cost of which will adjust with how much time is left on the user’s current plan.

“You can easily upgrade to a higher benefit plan at any time. To do so, you’ll need to pay the difference between the current plan and your new plan, adjusted for the remaining time of your subscription.”
