Capcom Will Release Multiple Major New Titles By End Of March 2023

Capcom has shared some details during its fiscal year report ended 31 March 2022.

The company will be releasing multiple new titles by 31 March 2023 and plans to release a total of 45 SKUs, and selling 37 million units total (10 million from the new, the rest from back catalogue). The company previously sold 32.6 million in the previous fiscal year, so the company is upping the ante here.

Here are Capcom’s upcoming games that may be out by that March 2023 timeframe.

  • Capcom Fighting Collection (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) – 24 June, 2022
  • Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (Switch, PC) – 30 June, 2022
  • Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC) – 22 July 2022
  • Resident Evil Re:Verse (PS4, Xbox One, PC) – 2022
  • Resident Evil 2 (2019) (PS5, Xbox Series) – 2022
  • Resident Evil 3 (2020) (PS5, Xbox Series) – 2022
  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard (PS5, Xbox Series) – 2022
  • Exoprimal (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, PC) – 2023
  • PRAGMATA (PS5, Xbox Series, PC) – 2023
  • Street Fighter 6 – TBA

Our guess? Street Fighter 6 will take its time and will not hit the 31 March 2023 deadline. I am pretty confident that the company has learned its lesson and not release their flagship fighting game title in a premature state -see Street Fighter 5 Season 1 and 2 for proof of that. We can wait a while longer for the complete version of Street Fighter 6, even if it takes until 2024.

On a related note, here are the sales numbers of Capcom’s best-selling games.

  • Resident Evil Village (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, PC) has sold over 6.1 million units.
  • Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin (Switch, PC) has sold over 1.5 million units.
  • Monster Hunter Rise sold an additional 4.1 million units during the last fiscal year.
  • Resident Evil 7 biohazard sold an additional 1.8 million units during the last fiscal year.

Notice something from those notes? Yeah, Street Fighter 5 isn’t anywhere at the top there.
