LEGO Announces LEGO Optimus Prime; Rolling Out This June

Update: Check it out in its full transforming glory below (via Gizmodo).

Original story

One shall stand, and one shall fall. Hopefully not this next LEGO set.

LEGO announced that its version of Transformers Autobot leader Optimus Prime will roll out this June 2022.

The upcoming LEGO Transformer set will have 1,508 pieces and will be based on the G1 version of Optimus Prime (via Brickfan). One of its cool features is the ability to transform Optimus Prime from robot mode to truck mode (and vice versa) without removing any pieces. Basically it’s like a build-your-own LEGO Transformer. The LEGO set will cost US$179.99 and will include a slew of accessories like the leader’s Ion Blaster, Energon Axe, the Allspark, and a jetpack.

There are no official pictures just yet; only the alleged one below. But we’re sure the Dutch company will make this Transformers set as authentic and as accurate as possible.
