Thailand Game Show 2022: Our Thoughts

This weekend I was fortunate enough to attend Thailand Game Show all thanks to Bandai Namco as they are promoting their two latest games in the highly anticipated One Piece Odyssey along with Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom.

But what this means is that this week we have a couple of special episodes of Push To Talk, the first of which where Mr Toffee and I provide our thoughts and impressions on the Bandai Namco titles along with Mr Toffee giving us his take on Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion.

I also got hands-on gameplay with One Piece Odyssey and what I have to say about it is that it truly does feel like an extension of the existing One Piece world—even if it’s not exactly canon. I look forward to seeing the public’s perception of the game upon release as I thoroughly believe that it looks promising.

As for Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom, I don’t have much experience with the previous game but I did put a substantial amount of time into this game and it is indeed relaxing. When playing it I couldn’t help but feel waves of nostalgia as I was hit with memories of games such as Farmville on Facebook, which I used to play as a kid.

In conjunction with this special Push To Talk episode, we also have another talking about Sega and the titles that they showcased at the THGS 2022. The games being, Sonic Frontiers and Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Again, a very special thank you to Bandai Namco for sponsoring this trip to Bangkok, it was an absolute blast and one thing I can say for certain, Thais know how to throw a convention!

[…] This is quite a roundabout way of saying “Ghost of Tsushima did really well, so we’re going back to the well with our 1800s spinoff”, but that’s just speculation on our part. For more on the upcoming Like A Dragon: Ishin and why it’s cool, check out our hands-on with the title here. […]
