Kakuchopurei Best 30 Games Of 2022: #16
For the rest of the list, head here. For #17, head here.
A lot of us missed 2000 monster brawlers like Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters. So we’re happy that our very own Malaysian game studio Passion Republic is filling in that much-needed void for everyone.
GigaBash is an arena brawler featuring four players as giant monsters inspired by classic kaiju battling it out in cities and exotic places around the world. If you’ve ever played the underrated 2003 game, War Of The Monsters, or any of the myriad Godzilla brawlers during the PS2 era, you’ll be right at home and familiar with GigaBash.
The combat is fun and satisfying with a nice punch or kick to it but still has a lot of depth, which fighting game fans will love. There’s not much to say about the story mode, but the meat of the game is in multiplayer anyways, where you can spend countless hours bashing your friends and family kaiju-style.
This game would make for a great party game for friends and family alike. Plus, Godzilla and his kaiju friends recently got added to the game as paid DLC, so fans of the kings of monsters stomp around as the iconic kaiju who hasn’t received his own game in years. God(zilla) bless Passion Republic; Malaysia boleh!
