Who Is Directing The Dead Space Movie? Here’s An Update From Horror Film Icon John Carpenter

John Carpenter is a renowned name in the horror film genre (The Thing remake, Halloween) and has recently been making awesome dark synth music for the past few years.

It seems that according to a quick quote from Variety, he thinks another director is handling the Dead Space movie adaptation. Previously last year, he said he was interested in the adaptation as a director.

“I’m a big video game fan, so I played all the games. I was down looking at the new digital cameras, the RED, and happened to mention to them that I would love to do a Dead Space film. That just went around, and everybody said, ‘Oh, when are you gonna do it?’ I’m not gonna do it. I think they already have another director involved.

And they haven’t asked me to do it. So until someone asks me, I wouldn’t do it. But there’s a new version of the Dead Space video game coming out in January, and I’m there.”

At least we’ll know what the famed horror director will be doing on 27 January. The Dead Space remake will be out for PC, Xbox Series, and PS5.
