New Resident Evil Death Island Sees Return Of Jill Valentine, Leon, Chris Redfield & Rebecca Chambers
Capcom has announced a new animated film in the Resident Evil franchise and it’s Resident Evil Death Island, a sequel to 2017’s CG film Resident Evil Vendetta. It will premiere sometime in summer 2023 and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Assassination Classroom) and a screenplay by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass), Resident Evil Death Island features D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit.
Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.
Leon, Chris and Rebecca were previously voiced by Matthew Mercer, Kevin Dorman and Erin Cahill. It’s currently unknown who will be voicing Jill, considering that she wasn’t in previous movies.
Meanwhile, the Resident Evil 4 Remake is slated to launch for PC via Steam, PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S on 24 March 2023.
