DRX Send Talon Esports Flying Back To Thailand At VCT LOCK//IN 2023

The VCT LOCK//IN tournament was a sight to behold, with Talon Esports turning heads even without their star player, who hasn’t returned yet. Although they had to field a substitute, Talon didn’t let that hinder them from stealing the spotlight.

Check out the schedule we did for VCT LOCK//IN

Talon Esports began strong by winning on their preferred map, Fracture. Their aggressive playstyle allowed them to dominate both defensively and offensively, resulting in a well-earned 13-10 victory on the first map against DRX.

The Ascent map was an exciting showdown, with both teams tied at 6-6 by halftime. However, DRX’s Gi-seok “Zest” Kim brought the heat in the second half with a pistol ace that secured the B-site defence. DRX then went on to win the map 13-6 after not conceding a single round in the second half.

On the Icebox map, Talon started strong with a 3-0 lead, but DRX quickly took control with the Jett playmaking of Byung-chul “BuZz” Yu, giving them a commanding presence. Despite this, Talon didn’t back down and managed to stay in the game with their aggressive playstyle and Jett heroics from Apiwat “garnetS” Apiraksukumal.

Although DRX managed to sneakily defuse and steal a round, Talon refused to give up and fought hard until the end. BuZz eventually shut down Talon’s last chance to come back, and DRX won the Icebox map 13-10 and the series 2-1. Despite the loss, Talon had an impressive showing throughout the tournament, winning both of their earlier series 2-0, while DRX continued their winning streak.

With the end of the VCT LOCK//IN, there is a two-day break before the start of the Omega bracket. The Team Liquid and Team Secret matchup will kick off the Omega bracket on 23 February at 1:00 AM (UTC+8), and LOUD and DRX are also looking forward to their future VALORANT matchups. Stay tuned for more exciting games to come.
