Blasphemous 2 Boss Guide & Walkthrough
Blasphemous 2 is out now for consoles and PC. If you loved the first game, you will be blown away by the second as it offers a ton of improvements and a lot of lore, along with fun combat.
The game’s bosses feature less grotesque monsters, but there are some giants here and there. Since this is a direct continuation of the first game, the enemies seem more “holy” than usual. Nonetheless, the fights are still challenging and require skill to complete.
First, some protips on what you need to play.
The three weapons you will unlock through the course of Blasphemous 2 -Ruego Al Alba sword, Sarmiento & Centella dual rapiers, Veredicto mace- have their uses in all of the game’s environment and puzzles. They come with their cool fighting styles:
-Ruego Al Alba lets you go into a frenzy mode which lets you deal more damage. Also, higher-tier upgrades let you unlock new anti-air moves and a blade wave from the end of a three-hit attack combo.
-Sarmiento & Centella hits fast, and can build up energy for more damage. It also comes with a lunge attack that slashes through enemies.
-Veredicto has a hard-hitting attack that you charge up. The default attack hits twice, so it’s useful for some enemies who run off when they get hit once. The mace’s reach is also unparalleled, hitting anything within its arc.
While my playstyle focuses more on Ruego Al Alba more, I occasionally switch to Sarmiento/Centella for quick hits and Veredicto for hitting enemies from a good distance.
When you start the game, you get your choice between the three weapons. You’ll get all of them eventually, but the starting level determines how your playstyle will be. If you aren’t sure, just go for Ruego Al Alba; it’s got good reach for a sword and hits hard with its 3-hit combo. Plus, getting the downward thrust special move lets you open certain fleshy barricades easily when you pull it off from a certain height.
Remember in games like the Mega Man Zero series where short jump and air slashes recover quicker than ground 3-hit attacks, therefore making you able to dodge or evade quicker if you see attacks coming? Same rule applies in Blasphemous 2. You can have the Penitent One do short hops and air slashes with Ruego Al Alba for quick hits while also preparing to dodge enemy attacks.
