V Rising Everything You Need To Know About Stygian Shards

V Rising, the vampire Rust game has a ton of crafting aspects. Stygian shards is a new form of resource that is can be used for either crafting or a currency at certain places. Found exclusively in one area, Ruins of Mortium, these are fragments of Dracula’s Legacy.

HOW TO GET STYGIAN SHARDS

The Stygian Shards drop from Rift Incursions. Incursion is a form of World Event that happens regularly.  You can keep track of this event through the Eye of Mortium. The Incursions also spawn in two tiers. Tier 1 is for Level 57+ and Tier 2 is for Level 80+. The lower tier will drop the Stygian shards, and the higher one drops Greater Stygian shards.

You will have to head to one of these marked locations and head to the ritual areas where there will be three Vampire Cultists which have black tethers connecting them to a large Shadow Realm Rift above them. There will then be another tether pointing to a secondary location, in which Shadow Realm enemies will spawn out of an opening rift. Here you will need to defeat two spellcasters, they will be either a Night Maiden or Blood Prophet. They will spawn waves of enemies if you do not kill them, so focus them down ASAP. Once all the enemies are defeated, the rift will shatter , and it will rain Stygian Shards! Collect them and move on.

You will need to do this all over again for the second rift. After completing these two rifts, a third one will spawn in the main ritual site. For a Tier 1 Incursion a Lesser Blood Soul will spawn. You may find them familiar and that’s because they are! These enemies will always be a levelled up version of a V Blood boss you have fought before. When you defeat this enemy, you get 3 Health Orbs and the rift will close. Getting these shards are pretty. You just need to do them consistently.

HOW TO USE STYGIAN SHARDS

Vampire Merchants

You can find two merchants who will do business with you. The merchant in the South only accepts normal shards, whereas the one in the North will take the Greater ones. Both inventories are pretty much the same, with the Northern side selling stronger weapons of course. Here you will pick which weapon shard you wish to purchase, but the shard is a gamble itself.

Southern Vampire Merchant – Level 20 weapon shard for 1,000 Stygian Shards

  • Ancestral Reaper Shards.
  • Ancestral Longbow Shards.
  • Ancestral Whip Shards.
  • Ancestral Spear Shards.

  • Ancestral Greatsword Shards.
  • Ancestral Crossbow Shards.
  • Ancestral Axes Shards.
  • Ancestral Mace Shards.
  • Ancestral Pistols Shards.
  • Ancestral Sword Shards.

Northern Vampire Merchant – Level 20 weapon shard for 2,000 Greater Stygian Shards

  • Ancestral Crossbow Shards.
  • Ancestral Greatsword Shards.
  • Ancestral Pistols Shards.
  • Ancestral Maces Shards.
  • Ancestral Axes Shards.
  • Ancestral Reaper Shards.
  • Ancestral Slashers Shards.
  • Ancestral Longbow Shards.
  • Ancestral Sword Shards.
  • Ancestral Whip Shards.
  • Ancestral Spear Shards.

Altar of Stygian Awakening

One of the more valuable ways you can spend your shards is by using the Altar of Stygian Awakening. You can craft passive buffs that will affect your entire clan. All this is available by just spending your shards at the altar. Each type of magic has new abilities, and you have three tiers to choose from. All these passives just make your vamp more effective.

Stygian Summoning Circle

If you are looking to seek out specific loot, you can summon specific enemies at the Stygian Summoning Circle. Like all other crafting and refining stations, you will mix these shards with other ingredients for specific things.
