Scott Pilgrim Takes Off Netflix Anime’s Japanese Voice Cast Revealed; Loads Of Stars Involved
If you’re a fan of recent anime 10 years back, you are going to love the Japanese dub of Netflix’s new project.
Netflix has revealed the Japanese voice cast of the new animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, which is a new entry in the Scott Pilgrim series of formerly-indie comic books which turned into a 2010 live-action film. And there are a bunch of heavy-hitters here and there: Scott Pilgrim is voiced by the VO of Demon Slayer’s Zenitsu Agatsuma (Hiro Shimono), while Ramona Flowers is voiced by the VO of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean’s Jolyne Kujo (Fairouz Ai).
Lucas Lee’s JP VO is Yuichi Nakamura, who played Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen, while Knives Chau’s Japanese VO is Aoi Koga, known for her work as Kaguya in Kaguya-Sama: Love is War! and Paimon in Genshin Impact.
Here’s the full cast list:
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is a lovely Netflix series that remixes the series, making the eight episodes a fresh-yet-kinda-familiar watch for veterans of the series. It’s about the title character, the video game-loving Scott Pilgrim, as he takes down the evil exes of his new love Ramona Flowers, but with a twist that’s sure to surprise (and possibly anger) older fans.
Check out our full review soon. Or better yet, check out the VO comparisons between the English and Japanese dub below:
Update: if you want to find out one other voice actor who hasn’t been revealed yet due to spoiler reasons, check out the tail end of the video below past the spoiler tags. Click here to find out who the VO is.
