Witch Hat Atelier Enlists Former Elden Ring Composer, Anime Adaptation Set for 2025
During Anime Expo 2024, Witch Hat Atelier revealed the teaser trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of the same name, including a key visual and cast announcement. The anime is slated for a 2025 premiere on Crunchyroll.

Ayumu Watanabe, who has directed multiple Doraemon films, is directing the anime with animation production, BUG FILMS. Hiroaki Kojima, the animation producer for Komi Can’t Communicate, is producing the anime. Kairi Unabara, known for Pokémon Evolutions, is designing the characters. Yuka Kitamura, the former composer for Elden Ring, is in charge of the music. The promotional video is directed by Kazuki Kawagoe, who directed Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.
Witch Hat Atelier is a fantasy manga by Kamome Shirahama, first published in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine in July 2016. The story revolves around Coco, a girl from a small village who has always aspired to become a wizard. Unfortunately, being born without magical aptitude, she believed her dream to be unattainable. However, everything changes when a travelling wizard named Kiefley visits her village and she witnesses him performing magic.
