Star Wars The Acolyte Cancelled With Only The Power Of One Season

The power of one, the power of two, the power of many…

Disney+ and Lucasfilm have cancelled Star Wars The Acolyte series after only one season.

According to Deadline, one possible reason for this (besides the divisive reactions from Star Wars fans) is that Star Wars The Acolyte dropped out of Nielsen’s Top 10 most watched TV series in its third week and had the lowest number of viewers for the final episode of any Star Wars series.

It looks like we won’t be seeing the resolution of several cliffhangers from The Acolyte Season 1, including more details on Sith Lord Darth Plageuis.

Check out my spoiler-free review of Star Wars The Acolyte by heading over here.

The Acolyte is set in the High Republic era during the prime of the Jedi, around one hundred years before the events of Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.

The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
