The Live-Action Voltron Movie Announces Star-Studded Cast

Amazon MGM Studios has announced the cast of the live-action Voltron movie. These include Alba Baptista, Samson Kayo, Tharanya Tharan, Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Henry Cavill, Rita Ora, and John Kim.

It will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber based on a screenplay he wrote with Ellen Shanman. The story will reportedly feature a new generation of pilots. Todd Lieberman via Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, Thurber, and Hobie Films’ David Hoberman are producing the live-action take of the anime TV series.

No other details have been revealed about the live-action Voltron movie.

Voltron is based on the Japanese sci-fi series Beast King GoLion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV. World Events edited and dubbed the series as a syndicated show, naming it Voltron: Defender of the Universe, which ran in the mid-1980s. The premise centred on five young pilots in a battalion named the Robot Lions, which are vehicles that join together to form a mega-robot known as Voltron.

One of the most recent Voltron was Netflix’s Voltron Legendary Defender, which ran for 8 seasons (but it will be removed from the streaming service in December 2024 for some reason).
