Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Unlock Revenant

In a game overflowing with bloodletting and blade-swinging maniacs, the Revenant stands out as the spooky support queen your party didn’t know it needed. With her ghostly entourage and team-wide immortality tricks, she’s the Nightfarer for players who like being the reason their squad survives a nasty ambush.

But unlocking her? It’s a bit more involved than most. Here’s how to do it, and why it’s worth the steps.

When You Can Unlock Revenant

To even begin unlocking the Revenant, you’ll need to have already added the Duchess to your roster (and if you haven’t, go read our guide on her unlock conditions). Once the Duchess is playable, a new relic becomes available, kicking off your path to spectral support greatness.

How To Unlock Revenant (Properly, Not Painfully)

  1. Buy the Besmirched Frame
After unlocking Duchess, visit the Small Jar Bazaar (west wing of the Roundtable Hold or fast travel there via the map). Spend 1,500 Murk to purchase the Besmirched Frame, a creepy little trinket that does more than just sit in your inventory.

  2. Find the Phantom
Once you’ve got the Frame, head to the east wing of the Roundtable Hold. A phantom of a young woman will appear—interact with her and you’ll be warped back to the tutorial area, but this time, you’re not alone.

  3. Defeat the Night Idol
Welcome to your Revenant job interview. The boss here, Night Idol, isn’t messing around. She fights alongside three spectral summons, making it a 4v1 slugfest.

    Here’s how to survive:

    • Pick them off one by one: Start with Helen the Page (fast but fragile), then Frederick the Pumpkin Head, and finally Sebastian the Giant Skeleton.

    • Keep moving: The Night Idol’s Triple Rings of Light spell can delete your health bar in seconds if you’re not dancing around the arena.

    • Finish with focus: Once her minions are down, you can either snipe from range or get in her face. Either way, don’t let her breathe.

Beat her, and voilà—the Revenant is yours, permanently unlocked across all future expeditions

Revenant Class Breakdown

If you like playing the long game, Revenant is your girl. She trades raw damage for battlefield control, ally sustain, and good ol’ fashioned necromancy.

  • Passive Ability – Necromancy
Occasionally resurrects fallen enemies to fight alongside you. Automatic and very, very handy for crowd control.
  • Skill – Summon Spirit
Call upon one of three exclusive phantom allies—agile rogue, burly bruiser, or spell-slinging caster. Each has unique strengths for different encounters.
  • Ultimate Art –Immortal March
Grants temporary invincibility to your party and instantly revives any downed teammates. It’s your panic button, victory lap, and final act all rolled into one.

Even if you’re not typically a support main, Revenant is an expedition-changer. When fights get messy (and they will), she’s the glue holding your squad together—reviving allies, distracting mobs, and giving you time to recover. Her learning curve is a little steeper than the rest, but the payoff is more than worth it.

Especially when you resurrect a skeleton army to do your dirty work while you heal the team in style.
