Check Out Brimstone, Valorant’s Soldier Guy

I guess it’s a tradition for a hero shooter (even if Valorant isn’t going as far as Overwatch or Paladins) to feature a more straightforward soldier-type character. In Valorant, Brimstone is that guy.

In Riot’s new teaser, Brimstone is shown calling in smoke artillery like it’s a Call of Duty killstreak/scorestreak, firing an incendiary grenade launcher, and shooting guns like a soldier’s meant to do.

Not shown are his Stim Beacon ability and Orbital Strike. According to Liquipedia, the former grants players within it Rapidfire (the shooting buff affects not just allies but everyone, from the various descriptions I’ve seen), while the latter fires a devastating laser at an area.

In other Valorant news, the closed beta broke another Twitch record recently, while Riot has a no-blood display requirement for third-party tournaments.
