New Scooby-Doo Movie Is Going Straight To Digital
Another movie is skipping cinemas by going straight to digital instead, and it’s Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming animated film, Scoob! While the movie retains its original release date of 15 May 2020, it will now launch exclusively on premium Video On Demand and various unspecified digital platforms.
In a statement to Deadline, Warner Bros. Chair and CEO Ann Sarnoff said:
“While we’re all eager to be able to once again show our films in theaters, we’re navigating new, unprecedented times which call for creative thinking and adaptability in how we distribute our content.
We know fans are eager to see Scoob! and we’re delighted we can deliver this feel-good movie for families to enjoy while they’re home together.â€
Directed by Tony Cervone, Scoob! tells the origin story of how Scooby and Shaggy first met, as well as how they joined with Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the iconic Mystery Inc. Still young, they now face their biggest mystery ever, teaming up with superhero Blue Falcon to stop the villain Dick Dastardly.
The cast of Scoob! (which boasts a pretty impressive cast) includes:
- Will Forte as Shaggy
- Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo
- Mark Wahlberg as Blue Falcon
- Jason Isaacs as Dick Dastardly
- Gina Rodriguez as Velma
- Zac Efron as Fred
- Amanda Seyfried as Daphne
- Kiersey Clemons as Falcon Fury pilot Dee Dee Skyes
- Ken Jeong as the Falcon Force’s Dynomutt
- Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman
