[Rumour] SNK Might Be Going PlayStation Exclusive

Bloomberg recently reported that Sony is considering a bid for Leyou Technologies. Why is that significant in the gaming industry business? Because Leyou is the parent company of SNK Corporation, the folks behind the King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, and Samurai Shodown series.

Anonymous sources from Sony also said that Sony Corporation are working with a financial adviser on a potential offer for Lenyou Technologies. If it pans out, Sony will be the parent company of SNK. Which means that your future SNK titles may be going the PlayStation exclusive route.

At this point in time, SNK has been on the up and up for the past year or so, with a brand-new Samurai Shodown title, a slew of Neo Geo Pocket ports, and a King of Fighters XV in the works. I’d like a new Twinkle Star Sprites with rollback netcode, but a guy can only dream, eh?
