E3 2019: The Breath Of The Wild 2 Team Is Inspired By This Open-World Game

The (arguably) most shocking announcement of E3 2019 so far has been that a The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild sequel is currently in development over at Nintendo. Details are scarce for now but now we know what recent open-world game is serving as the inspiration for the team working on the game.

In an interview with IGN, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma said that the younger staff of the team developing The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 (unofficial title) is playing (and being inspired by) none other than Rockstar Games’ recent massive hit from last year, Red Dead Redemption 2.

Aonuma also revealed that back when he was working on 2017’s The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, he was playing Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which also indirectly inspired the entire development team as well.

Nowadays, Aonuma has a lot of Zelda on his plate, so he’s currently playing the upcoming soon-to-be-released Cadence Of Hyrule game while working on The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Nintendo has yet revealed anything much about The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild sequel, but rest assured it’s now one of the most highly-anticipated games. In the meantime, re-watch the trailer below.
