With the release date of The Last of Us Part 2 finally announced, PlayStation has decided to cash in on the hype by including The Last of Us Remastered in the PlayStation Plus October 2019 free games lineup.

Seeing as how the sequel takes place years after the first game and will no doubt be full of pleasant references for fans, it’s a great chance for newcomers to find out why so many people are excited for Part 2.

Even if you’re not interested in the sequel, The Last of Us is still one of the most beloved PS3 games of all time. The Remastered edition comes with a few quality of life improvements and runs at 1080p 60fps. Yeah, the textures look a bit dated but it’s still easy on the eyes, especially when you’re not busy wiping your tears.

Also on the PS+ October 2019 free games lineup is MLB The Show 19 which is a treat for all you baseball game fans out there. PS+ subscribers can get these games for free beginning from 1 October 2019.
