Danganronpa Creator To Announce New Game Soon

It’s been quite a while since we’ve gotten a mainline release of the Danganronpa series. This year we got Danganronpa Trilogy which is merely a bundle of the first three main Danganronpa games for the PS4. Looks like we’ll be getting something new soon but all clues point to it not being a Danganronpa-related title.

Kazutaka Kodaka, the man behind the Danganronpa series has teased that he will be announcing a new title on 9 December 2019. Through his Twitter account, Kodaka stated that he hasn’t been too cheerful this year but he’ll still make an announcement at the end of the year.

Translation (thanks, Gematsu):

“Maybe because it was a bad year, I was feeling down quite a lot this year, but… I’ll still be able to make this announcement at the end of it, so it’s going to be the greatest year! That’s the level of excitement I have for the title that’s going to be announced tomorrow. It’s a new title that is extremely special to me, so please look out for it…! Thank you for your support!!!”

Both the Izanagi Games’ Twitter page and Izanagi Games CEO Shinsuke Umeda retweeted Kodaka’s tweet. Izanagi Games is the publisher of the upcoming game Death March Club, a project Kodaka is also working on as well. The company recently registered a trademark for “Death Come True” as well as acquiring the domain name DeathComeTrue.com.

Fans of the Danganronpa series should definitely look forward to what Kodaka will be announcing. Perhaps it will be a new entry or another spin-off of the series. I’m guessing it’s going to be something else entirely.

Thanks, Gematsu.
