University E-League Announces KitKat Chunky As Main Sponsor
By Alleef Ashaari|June 14, 2021|0 Comment
Following its recent launch, the University e-League (UEL) has announced KITKAT CHUNKY as the main sponsor and Official Power Up Partner for its inaugural season. With this partnership, KITKAT CHUNKY sets foot into the most anticipated collegiate esports circuit in Malaysia, while championing an uplifting campaign aimed at giving gamers the quick break they need to re-energize during intense gaming sessions.
The sponsorship marks KITKAT’s ground-breaking venture into the Malaysian esports scene — offering exciting opportunities for student gamers and esports enthusiasts nationwide. Built on its reputation as the ultimate go-to chocolate snack to have a break, KITKAT CHUNKY hopes to ‘power up’ gaming experiences for student gamers and esports enthusiasts nationwide. Acknowledging that their relentless passion for gaming can lead to fatigue. KITKAT CHUNKY aims to encourage gamers to step away from their screen, enjoy a break and “POWER UP†in an effort to feel re-energized before the next round.
Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad Confectionery Business Unit Consumer Marketing Manager Tiffany Tan said:
“Being part of a world that is constantly progressing and evolving, it is often a challenge to recognize the importance of taking well deserved moments of break.
KITKAT CHUNKY acknowledges the challenges that young Malaysian gamers go through; not just in-game, but also life as a gamer in general — which is why KITKAT CHUNKY wishes to play a role and put a smile in the short breaks that gamers need when pushing boundaries to achieve their dreams.â€
University e-League Head of Business Development Adrian Gaffor said:
“We are thrilled to have KITKAT CHUNKY as our Official Power Up Partner for the University e-League.
In alignment with UEL’s vision and mission, we are delighted to join hands with the brand on a journey to empower young gamers and create meaningful opportunities for students and esports enthusiasts in Malaysia.”
Globally, KITKAT has invested and earned its place in esports through partnerships with esports leagues and teams including the League Of Legends European Championship (LEC) and the Los Angeles Valiant, an esports team competing in the Overwatch League.
Beginning 14th June 2021, the University e-League will open its registration to university esports teams across Malaysia to compete in 4 game titles for a combined prize pool of RM 20,000. Scheduled to be broadcasted online, the league will feature some of the most exciting and coveted game titles including DOTA 2, League Of Legends Wild Rift and Mobile Legends.
UEL will consist of two stages of competition; Qualifiers and Grand Finals held between 9 July and 15 August 2021. For future updates and information on UEL, visit http://www.universityeleague.com/ or @UeLMY on Facebook.
